Deservedly known as India’s most romantic city, the “City of the Lakes.” The Taj Lake Palace Hotel dominates Lake Pichola and is the epitome of romance and luxury. Udaipur is a compact city of relative prosperity, sparkling lakes (monsoon permitting!) and restored palaces. It is a relaxing alternative to some of the other Rajasthani cities. Well connected by road, rail and internal air.

LAKE PICHOLA
Udaipur is best viewed at sunset by boat from the middle of the lake.
CITY PALACE
The largest royal complex in Rajasthan, it comprises eleven different palaces. Much of it is a museum and parts are now luxury hotels.
BAZAARS
Wander, without hassle through streets with artisans selling silver and cotton. The Mewar region is famous for its silver jewellery, wooden folk toys and miniature paintings and it is fun banter with the local shop owners.
